ADIS is a 24 hour, confidential telephone service for people in Western Australia. It provides information, counselling, referral and advice to anyone concerned about their own or another’s alcohol or other drug use.

ADIS also responds to calls through the Parent Drug Information Service, provides the counselling component of Quitline WA and is an access point for various state and federal campaigns. ADIS is staffed by professional drug and alcohol counsellors.

Drugs, effects, testing, drug courts, types of treatment, services, needle exchanges, prevalence, patterns of use. ADIS produces a biennial bulletin. ADIS maintains the on-line Directory of Drug and Alcohol Services in Western Australia. Information about drugs, services or management of someone else's drug use can be mailed out on request.
Counselling for people affected by drug use, Harm minimsation strategies, brief interventions for family members, ongoing counselling for people unable to access community based services. Counselling and support for victims of drink spiking.
Referral to a range of drug specialist and mainstream health and welfare services. ADIS is an access point for people seeking Methadone or Buprenorphine (Subutex) for opiate maintenance treatment.
Information and consultation about specific issues and resources for students doing projects on drug related harm.


Interpreters and Translators (TIS & TTY)

ADIS covers the cost of translation for callers from linguistically diverse backgrounds. Call 13 14 50. People with hearing or speech impairment can also access the service by calling 13 36 77 and quoting one of our contact numbers. This will cost no more than a local call.
